Updates

Well, its been almost a year since i have updated this blog. In that time I have become a Professional. Its great training everyday and allowing enough time to do this without feeling stressed or tired.

My progress towards the 2011 Iron Man is looking great. I am on target with all my training and I am feeling really good. The weather has allowed for some full on days of training recently and now i am on my way to Taupo for another day of training.

2010 so far...

In July I ran the Mizuno Taupo half marathon event and placed 2nd.

In September this year I won the Palmerston North strider's Half marathon event. This was a very intense and tough race for me but I managed to beat an international mountain runner in a fast sprint to the end.

In October i raced in the annual Koputoroa half marathon and came in 1st. This was a good race too.

At the moment i am in hard training for the 2010 Taupo half Iron man coming up on December 11th, but before then i have the first race of the New Zealand triathlon series that I will be attending in Rotorua.

This Sunday just gone i competed in the Tour de Manawatu, Palmerston Norths version of Round the lake. Carl instructed me that this was a training ride so i wasn't to race. Even with this in mind i finished 8th overall. Congratulations to Craig Lawn who won the event. I really enjoyed this fun ride and my legs felt great after I had finished even though my running and swimming has been most of my training lately.

My Partner's sister has just completed her documentary short film about me and my iron man training and it was a pleasure to be part of that. Its great to know that one person can inspire others.

So, until next time which wont be as long, thank you to all my sponsors, coach, family and friends who keep me going and thank you to everyone else following my progress.
